The Spreading of Spring

Traveling down 77 south today
I discovered
The journey of spring
Creeping from the coast
Toward home

The grass turning greener
Barren trees show tiny buds
The further south we go

Spring is well on her way
South Carolina her home today
I'll travel home
And wait for her there

I really enjoyed this and especially liked the way you ended the poem, the image of you driving home to wait for spring :))) sweet. (and a nice reassurance she is on her way!)

  2. That's one of the things I love about traveling south this time of year. You can watch spring appear right before your eyes. Enjoy your trip. J

  4. We were just commenting on this exact thing the other day when we travelled for spring break. So amazing to watch seasons change in a few hours! Your poem was lovely.
